It all began with the Fool

Do you feel it? The shift that is happening all around us. The subtle changes you’re not sure you’ve seen. It began just over two years ago, when the world we knew stopped cold in its tracks and gave the Earth a moment to rest. A moment so short in her life span, yet so long for many human-beings. This moment has led to so many people needing change. The energy of Earth vibrated so high, the people began to see through the illusions of man and into the Universal light that is creating change.

I recently moved from my home of fourteen years, in a neighborhood I spent 26 years living in, raised my daughter in, changed my life by joining the best gym, survived triple negative breast cancer, and created so many memories in. It was the best decision for my peace of mind, but it was a difficult to take that leap I so desperately needed. I spent the last 2 years using Reiki to clear the energy in my home, to help me manage stress, healing my spirit, but it couldn’t resolve my issues. Life needs to change, it’s a natural course of time, if you believe that time is real.

I no longer do, as Reiki practitioner, I’ve come to better understand energy and our connection to energy. What I’ve most understood is that energy does not move along a timeline, it just moves. We become stagnant because we believe we have to do things a certain way and this in turn causes blocks is within our bodies. It becomes a vicious cycle of trying to move forward while holding onto beliefs that no longer serve us. It becomes a matter of trust, not just in the world around us but the world within. Trusting that the universe will provide us with what is needed and knowing that even the things we want aren’t always what we need. These are lessons that are meant to show us where we need healing, so we learn to ask questions. Why? What? How? Instead of embracing the lesson and embracing our shadow.

What does all this have to do with the Fool? The Fool in tarot represents the step before taking your first step. It represents taking a leap of faith and trusting that the universe has your back. I left my home of thirteen years on April 1st which happened to be a new moon in Aries, a perfect time to start a new chapter in my life. I moved to a neighborhood that is the complete opposite of my previous one, my commute is three times as long, but I’m happier than I’ve been in a long time. I feel the energy flowing differently, I come home and there is so much peace it’s too much to believe at times, and I’m grateful for every moment of it.

One leap of faith is shifting the energy around me, bringing me back to me. Giving me pause to realign myself with my path and reconnect to Reiki energy. One leap of faith taken as the Fool on a new journey into the unknown knowing that I’m where I’m supposed to be. I can close my eyes once again and see the images of yesterday as well as those of tomorrow as the weight of stress slowly slips off my shoulders into an abyss and the lightness of what’s to come fills me with a childlike anticipation. What is meant to come will come in its time and though life often throws us a curveball, I know it is meant to redirect us. Time is not linear; it ebbs and flows like the ocean shifting us to meet the plans laid out before we took our first breaths, and it all began with a fool’s dream to create a path we are not meant to see until we take a leap and trust in the universal flow.
